The petrol prices are likely to be increased by Rs 3 per liter as the government owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) are facing tuff time with the increase in the cost of importing crude oil price on the back of depreciating Indian rupee. As per reports, the OMCs are making lose of Rs 2.61 on every liter or Rs 15 crore per day on the sale of petrol after adding local taxes, to match the domestic price of petrol to international prices, hike of around Rs 3 per liter would be needed to meet the loss.
