Kochi: During the first four months of current month, Indian coffee export continued to fall. The drop is mainly due to financial crises all over the world though the global coffee witnessed an increase in the 2008-09 coffee year.
From January 1 to May 6, Indian shipments stood at 74,624 tonnes against 91,241 tonnes during the corresponding period last year with a fall of 16,617 tonnes. Meanwhile, the fall in instant coffee export was 6,411 tonnes and rest was in other categories, according to the India Coffee Board sources.
