TCS shares jumped above 12% in the early trade after the company posted a surprise growth in revenues and net profit for the first quarter of the fiscal. The company posted a 23% growth in net profit at Rs 1,520 crore, but said pricing will remain under pressure in the next one year. Revenues were up 12.4% to Rs 7,207 crore.
All the sectorial indices are trading in green in the opening trade. The up move was mainly led by the IT, Oil &Gas, Realty and Capital Goods stocks. The broader market indices are also witnessing significant buying interest as both the BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap indices are trading with a gain of more than 1% each.
