However, the defensive stocks like FMCG edged higher. The broader market indices also remained in pressure in the opening trade as both the BSE Mid Cap and the Small Cap indices are now trading with a cut of more than 1% each.
The BSE Sensex is trading below the 16150 mark and the NSE Nifty below the 4800 mark in the early trade.

The Overall market breadth is negative as 349 stocks are advancing while 1338 stocks are declining and the 29 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
