Gold import soars 19-fold in January : जनवरी मे सोने के आयात मे 19 गुना वृद्धि हुई : 5th March

सोने के आयात मे पिछले वर्ष की अवधि मे 1.8 टन की मामूली के खिलाफ जनवरी में लगभग 34 टन से 19 गुना वृद्धि हुई है। यह तब से है जबसे इसकी कीमतें दिसंबर 2009 में अपने रिकॉर्ड स्तर 18,500 रुपये से गिरकर, 16,500 रुपये प्रति दस ग्राम के स्तर तक पहुँच गयी। वर्तमान में, मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज पर सोना 17,035 रुपये पर कारोबार कर रहा है, जबकि स्थानीय बाजारों में यह लगभग 17,200 रुपए में उपलब्ध है। विश्व बाजार में, यह 1,139 $ एक औंस (28.34 ग्राम) पर थोडा अधिक है। हंडिया ने कहा कि सरकार द्वारा सीमा शुल्क मे 200 रूपये प्रति 10 ग्राम से 100 रूपये प्रति 10 ग्राम मे बजट में आयात वृद्धि से हिट होने की उम्मीद है। उच्च आयात लागत द्वारा मार्च से घरेलू कीमतों को प्रभावित करने का बढ़ावा मिलेगा। दूसरी ओर, इस कदम घरेलू बाजार पर बहुत ज्यादा असर नहीं के रूप में मुख्य रूप से भारत और सलाखों के सिक्कों के रूप में सोने का आयात करेगा।

English Translation:

Gold imports increased nearly 19-fold to 34 tonne in January, against a paltry 1.8 tonne in the year-ago period. This is since the prices tumbled from its record Rs 18,500 level in December 2009, to Rs 16,500 level per ten grams. At present, gold is trading at Rs 17,035 on the Multi-Commodity Exchange, while in local markets it is available at around Rs 17,200. In the global markets, it is slightly higher at $1,139 an ounce (28.34 grams). Hundia said import is expected to be hit after the Government hiked customs duty by Rs 100 per 10 grams in the Budget from Rs 200 per 10 grams. The move will lead to higher import cost that will affect domestic prices from March. On the other hand, the move will not have much impact on the domestic market much as India mainly imports gold in the form of bars and coins.
