Standard Chartered Bank began selling shares through an Indian Depository Receipts (IDRs) in India, hoping to raise up to $588 mn. The price band for the offering is fixed at Rs. 100-115 per IDR. Retail investors will be offered an additional discount of 5 %. This is based on the closing price of its parent on the London Stock Exchange on Friday. The price is based on the Friday closing of StanChart Plc on the LSE. The IDR of Standard Chartered Bank would close on 28th May 2010. The allotment of the IDRs will be completed by 7th June 2010.
