Jeera futures which were trading high past few sessions are now trading weak as the speculators liquidated their short position. Though the, price of the commodity is expected to rise owing to the strong export demand as prices of the commodity in the international market are quoting at $3200 per tonne which is much lower as compared to Syrian prices at $3600 per tonnes. The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 14660.00, down by 3.43% or Rs 520.00 from its previous closing of Rs 15180.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 10473.00 lots. The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 14884.00, down by 3.60% or Rs 556 from its previous closing of 15440.00.
