In a bid to expand in the overseas market UCO Bank is planning to open more branches in the South East Asian regions. The bank seeks opportunity in South East Asia, Mozambique, Bangladesh and Nepal where it can open its branches where infusion of capital is less. The bank is conducting a feasibility study and is yet to approach the Reserve Bank for expanding its overseas operations. At present UCO Bank has four branches in Singapore and Malaysia and a representative office in Beijing, China. Besides looking for overseas expansion the bank is also planning to increase its presence in the country over the next two years. Currently the bank is present in 2,177 locations and has 600 ATMs and wants to scale it to 3,000 branches and 3,000 ATMs in the country by March, 2013. The bank has got customer base of around 1.5 crore and wants to add more customer with the addition of new branches.
