Physical rubber prices declined on Wednesday tracking the weakness in the domestic and international futures. Buyer resistance led the prices down however there was no selling pressure from dealers or growers.The intermittent rains throughout last month have resulted in a spurt in natural rubber production in April. The spot prices for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs 231.00 compared to its previous closing of Rs 232.00, while RSS-5 variety closed unchanged at Rs 229.00. In the futures market, the contract of May series for RSS 4 slipped to Rs 228.40 from its previous closing of Rs229.38, while the contract for June delivery closed at Rs 233.70 compared to its previous closing of Rs 235.43 on National Multi Commodity Exchange.
