UltraTech Cement has reported 3% fall in its September sales at 2.76 million tonnes (mt) against 2.85 mt registered in the same month last year. The sales were hit by the ongoing agitation over the Telangana issue in Andhra Pradesh. The drop in deliveries was more prominent when compared on a sequential basis. The company's September sales were down 10% as against 3.06 mt registered in August.

The company’s net profit for the quarter increased by 181.43% at Rs 683.11 crore as compared to Rs 242.73 crore for the same quarter last year. Its total income increased by 141.08% to Rs 4431.15 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1838.07 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
