English Translation:
Gold prices extended the declining trend for the second straight session on Monday as investors continued to book profits in the bullion after witnessing the spike in US dollar triggered by the intervention of Japanese authorities in the currency market. Though the yellow metal prices plunged by over a percent in the session yet it managed to snap the October month with over six percent gains. The precious metal slipped on lower than usual volumes as investors stayed at the bay ahead of a slew of US economic reports which are scheduled to be released this week including the US manufacturing data on Tuesday.
Gold futures for December delivery plunged $22 or 1.3% to settle at $1,747.20 an ounce, after trading as high as $1,746.50 and as low as $1,705.50 on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, whereas the spot gold prices sank 1.1% to $1,722.65 an ounce.
