Jeera futures like other export oriented commodities are in somber mood as some of the major global commodity indices are not trading today. Traders are opting to book profit amid lack of export demand. Earlier, last week the prices moved higher on export enquiries on the heels of higher quotes by competing nations such as Syria and Turkey.
The contract for January delivery was trading at Rs 15,450.00, down by 1.20% or Rs 187.00 from its previous closing of Rs 15,637.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11799.00 lots.
The contract for February delivery was trading at Rs 15,900.00, down by 0.26% or Rs 42.00 from its previous closing of Rs 15,942.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11271 lots on NCDEX.
