The markets opened sharply lower with a heavy gap down in line with the Asian markets. The BSE Sensex has slipped below the 13300 level and the NSE nifty below the 4000 level in the early trade. The Realty, Consumer Durables, Capital Goods, Power and Metal stocks were under pressure. However the IT index has hold in some gain in the opening trade. The broader market indices are also witnessing significant selling pressure as both the BSE Mid Cap and the BSE Small Cap indices were trading with a cut of more than 2.5% each.
The BSE Sensex is now trading below the 13300 mark and the NSE Nifty below the 3950 mark.
The BSE Sensex is trading down by 211.01 points or (1.56%) at 13,293.21 and the NSE Nifty is trading marginally lower by 62.65 points or (1.56%) at 3,941.25.
The BSE Mid Cap decreased by 126.19 points or (2.67%) to 4,592.40 and the BSE Small Cap fell by 158.69 points or (3.03%) to 5,075.81.
The Overall market breadth is negative as 359 stocks are advancing while 1155 stocks are declining and the 29 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
