MTNL eyes global acquisitions : एमटीएनएल की नज़र वैश्विक अधिग्रहण पर : 20th January
हिन्दी अनुवादयह निजी टैली कंपनी जैसे भारती या एस्सार ही नहीं लेकिन राज्य की दूरसंचार कंपनी महानगर टेलीफोन निगम लिमिटेड (एमटीएनएल), भी अफ्रीका मे व्यापर चाहते है। हालांकि, एमटीएनएल ने हाल ही में बीएसएनएल के साथ जेन दूरसंचार के लिए बोली लगाने के लिए भागीदारी की थी इसका अफ्रीका में बढा संचालन है। लेकिन यह समझौता नहीं हुआ इसलिए अब एमटीएनएल एकल हो रहा है, पर ऐसा होना आसान नहीं है। इस बीच, एमटीएनएल को दिल्ली और मुंबई में ही काम करने का अधिकार मिला है और इससे कंपनी का विकास दब रहा है। इसके अलावा, इस दिशा में पहला कदम दिल्ली और मुंबई के आसपास के क्षेत्रों में प्रवेश करना होगा। दूसरी ओर, एमटीएनएल भी अपने काम करने वाले समूह को एक अलग सहायक में अपनी अचल संपत्ति द्वारा धन जुटाने मे लग गयी है। यह दिल्ली और मुंबई में 4000-5000 करोड़ रुपए मूल्य की अचल संपत्ति का मालिक है।
English Translation:
It''s not just private telcos like Bharti or Essar but state-run telecom company, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), is also keen on calling on Africa. However, MTNL had recently partnered with BSNL in order to bid for Zain Telecom, which has large operations in Africa. But the deal never happened hence now MTNL is going solo, but the going may not be easy. Meanwhile, MTNL has license to operate only in Delhi and Mumbai and this has been stifling the company''s growth. Moreover, a first step towards that would be by entering areas adjoining Delhi and Mumbai. On the other hand, MTNL is also looking to raise money by hiving off its real estate into a separate subsidiary. It owns real estate worth Rs 4000-5000 crore in Delhi and Mumbai.
