Physical rubber prices moved higher on Tuesday supported by the gains in the futures market, however there were no fresh enquiries from the tyre sector and the volume remained dull but the prices ruled firm on low supplies. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs 227.50 compared to its previous closing of Rs 226, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 223.50 compared to its previous closing of Rs 222. In the futures market, April series for RSS-4 recovered to Rs 229.66 from its previous closing of Rs 226.86 while the contract for May delivery closed at Rs 236.40 compared to its previous closing of 233.01 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
