Physical rubber prices continued their surge on Tuesday and reached their highest level of the year,the good global cues and the low supply in the mandis led the prices higher, however the domestic futures suffered some profit booking in late trades. Spot price for RSS-4 variety rose by Rs 3 to Rs 243 per kg, the highest for the current year, largely on back of increased demand amid low supply in the market. In the futures market the contract for April delivery for RSS-4 closed at Rs 240.85 compared to its previous closing of Rs 245.55 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
