English Translation:
Turmeric futures have nudged higher as traders created fresh positions on the back of rising demand in the domestic markets. However, the trend for the commodity is expected to remain volatile in the short term as improved production prospects and higher stocks could keep the prices under check to some extent.
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 4574.00, up by 2.83% or Rs 126.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4448.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 10165 lots.
The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 4434.00, up by 1.00% or Rs 44.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4390.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2245lots on NCDEX.
