EGoM Allows Export Of Additional 1 Million Tonnes Of Sugar : ईजीओएम ने चीनी पर अतिरिक्त 1 लाख टन के निर्यात को मंजूरी दी : 27-03-12

सरकार ने अतिरिक्त 1 लाख टन के चीनी के निर्यात को अनुमति दी है। मंत्रियों के अधिकार प्राप्त समूह (ईजीओएम), वित्त मंत्री प्रणव मुखर्जी की अध्यक्षता में निर्यात की अनुमति देने का फैसला लिया गया था। यह निर्णय बढ़ते गन्ना के बकाया से घरेलू मिलों की मदद करेगा जो किसान 8409 करोड़ रुपये पर पहुंच गये है। भारत चीनी का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक और दुनिया में सबसे बड़ा उपभोक्ता है। लेकिन यह एक क्षेत्र है जो सरकार द्वारा अत्यधिक नियंत्रित किया जाता है। सरकार ने 2011-12 विपणन वर्ष में 2 लाख टन चीनी निर्यात की अनुमति दी थी जो दो बराबर श्रृंखला है, जोकि देश का चीनी उत्पादन घरेलू खपत से अधिक स्थापित किया गया था।


English Translation :

The government has allowed exports of additional 1 million tonnes of sugar. The decision to allow exports was taken by an Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The decision will also help domestic mills to clear mounting sugarcane arrears to farmers that have reached Rs 8,409 crore. India is the second largest producer and the world’s largest consumer of sugar. But it is a sector which is highly regulated by the government. The government had allowed 2 million tonnes of sugar exports in the 2011-12 marketing year in two equal tranches, as the country’s sugar output was all set to exceed domestic consumption.
