English Translation:

A Life-saving treatment for a sum of Rs.11.75 crore in order to help 2,651 persons has been spent under the ''Chief Minister''s Health Insurance Scheme. However, Health Minister M. R. K. Pannerselvam stated that the programme executed at 19 government hospitals and about 415 private hospitals across the State. Additionally, a sum of Rs.1, 661 crore is allotted for the construction of new buildings for hospitals whereas the State government had allotted Rs. 55 crore for the effective execution of Emergency Ambulance concept. On the other hand, Mr. Pannerselvam previously examined the construction works of additional buildings for the District Headquarters Hospital and the Raniar Government Maternity Hospital while quality treatment was being provided to patients at both hospitals.

English Translation:

In view of the Union Government''s focus on financial inclusion, ICICI Lombard is looking at boosting business from social sector schemes. The company is targeting about 15% of its revenue from government-sponsored insurance schemes for the poor in 2009-10. Additionally, private players are slowly catching up, while the four public sector insurance companies continue to be the front-runners in the distribution of government-subsidized insurance schemes.

ICICI Lombard acts as the nodal agency for distribution of the Weaver''s Health Insurance Scheme and the Artisan''s Health Insurance Scheme under private-public partnership with the Union Textile Ministry.
