On 21st May 2009, Mutual funds (MFs) extended their buying for the second day as they bought shares worth Rs 97.40 crore. MFs' net inflow of Rs 97.40 crore on 21 May 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 1263.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 1166 crore. The BSE 30-share Sensex lost 324.12 points or 2.31% to 13,736.54 on that day MFs are net sellers of shares worth Rs 281.40 crore in May 2009 (till 21 May 2009).

The MFs were net buyer of shares worth Rs 507.20 crore during this month till May 8, 2009.
