English Translation:

State-run Corporation Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with United India Insurance (UII), public sector non-life insurance major for distributing micro insurance and other rural insurance products through its business correspondents. The insurance major has taken up the task of training, building capacities and enabling the business correspondents of the bank for selling the policy. It would further add to the hand held device for issuance of receipts for the premiums collected. Currently, the bank is having 1400 branchless banking points operated through the business correspondents and their hand held equipment. United India Insurance (UII) is the largest rural and micro insurer in India and has a vast range of micro insurance products suited to the beneficiaries of micro finance projects and also for the rural population.
