English Translation:

Punjab National Bank (PNB), public sector lender has initiated reformatting loans given to State Electricity Boards (SEBs). The bank has taken this initiative on the back of rising concerns about funding the power sector, however, it will continue to provide funds for existing power generation projects.

Under this reformatting, the short-term loans issued by bank are restructured and converted into long-term loans repayable over a period of time. PNB has an exposure of over Rs 12,000 crore to the power sector.
