January contract on the NCDEX increased by Rs 427 to close at Rs 14,372 a quintal. February and March were up by Rs 444 and Rs 422, respectively, to close at Rs 14,618 and Rs 14,810 a quintal. Total turnover went up by 7,036 tonnes to 8,869 tonnes. Total open interest dropped by 131 tonnes to 12,374 tonnes.
Open interest for January dropped by 628 tonnes to 8,089 tonnes, while that of February increased by 527 tonnes. Spot prices in tandem with the futures market trend went up by Rs 300 to close at Rs 13,600 (ungarbled) and Rs 14,100 (MG 1) a quintal.
